Thank you everyone for another successful year of Electric Medway. We're delighted that so many of you came to experience our eclectic 2021 programme. We hope you enjoyed it, were surprised by it, and took something from it.
This year, we managed to reach many different audience members from all across Medway - we had installations at Fort Amherst, Intra Arts, Sun Pier House, Rochester Masonic Hall, Medway Libraries, Medway Piers and Rochester Art Gallery, to name a few.
As a result, we had 13,000 audience engagements at venues and online - over double last time! This is astounding, and we couldn't have done it without you!
Our website, which showcased some of the artists' works, had 4,885 unique visitors during the 10-day festival, which is amazing! We also had 6,000 interactions on social media too, which helped to promote the artists work and raise their profiles.
The Medway Hack workshops were a great opportunity for the community to experience and learn new things. At a Hack session, participants learnt about immersive technologies; using data for storytelling, creating AR filters, trying out 360 filmmaking and using haptic devices to make music. Participants were inspired by professional tech artists, developed advanced digital skills, and had time to experiment and play with their own ideas.
The series of live conversations, led by local and international speakers, explored current topics around digital culture and creativity. This was beneficial for local creatives and the community alike; giving a chance to share ideas, inspirations, opportunities and resources within the local area.
Electric Medway 2021 was a huge success! We were lucky to have such amazing artists which helped to form such a varied programme, which meant that there really was something for everyone.
