Are you a creative & have a passion for the arts? Would you like to be part of our exciting Electric Medway 2021 programme running 21-30 August? Then this blog is for you…… Our call outs for Electric Medway 2021 are now live! If you’re a creative, have an existing piece of work OR have an amazing idea that you need help turning into a reality - then we’d love to hear from you.
Our creative focus this year is SYNCHRONISED - exploring how people, over the years, have built order in their lives at times of chaos. They will be telling stories we can all relate to; of live moving in, and out, of sync. Artists will be working around these patterns:
Our first call out is for Showcase Submissions - we are on a hunt for some great existing digital artworks from local artists/creatives. We can offer a small bursary to support costs. The artwork can be displayed virtually, or we can arrange a live showing/exhibition of your works at one of our many venues, if you’d prefer! You will also get your own listing page and social media promotion. If you think this could be for you, then please fill out this form. Works from last years’ festival include Above and Below the Water Line by Jehane Markham and Your Face, Your Self by Hannah Whittaker. The second call out is for Digital Art Commissions - Funding of up to £750 is available for a number of small-scale digital art works and activities. We are looking for ideas/plans on ANY digital medium, whether that be art, animation, music or more! You will have the chance to showcase your work either virtually or onsite at one of our locations. If interested, tell us more about your idea by completing this form. Examples from last years’ festival include MEDWAY: A Game of Cones by Nick Ashton and Minimus Mobile Picnic. Our final call out is for Installation Commissions - Do you have an immersive, interactive idea that you’d like to bring to life, live at a venue in Medway? We’re excited to be commissioning FIVE site-based digital art installations across Medway, each commission will receive a fixed fee of £2000 to fund their project. If interested, tell us more about your idea by completing this form. Works from last years’ festival include Postcards from Medway by Alison Neighbour and Breathe In… Breathe Out by Jane Pitt. Electric Medway is supported by Medway Council and co-commissioned by Creative Estuary.
