Heritage and Hope.
Heritage and Hope is a new community project uncovering the stories of places and objects important to local people, and their wellbeing.
Adam Glen and Janet Moore of Electric Medway, led photogrammetry* scanning and creative writing activities to open up positive conversation about memories, family, personal interests and the outdoors.
Presented as an imaginary yet familiar street scene, the final artwork - a 3D model and digital print - has been co-created with 13 participants over 6 workshops during May and July 2023.
Participants:
Teri Brunt, Daniel Nicholson, Daria Buriachkova, Kateryna Lisova, John Morgan, Prabhath Gunawardhana, Brandon Michael, Heike Nwagbo, Arnold Adegoke, Gabi Almeida, Thomas Allen, Michi Masumi, Magda Szewczyk.
3D composition:
Adam Glen.

The artwork is currently on tour as part of the HOPE Community Arts Exhibition. Come along and visit the exhibition for free, at the following venues:

Is this The Old High St Intra or a faraway land?
This week, we were at The Turner Contemporary in Margate to launch a new interactive artwork - Heritage and Hope.
Heritage and Hope uncovers the stories of places and objects important to local people.
Presented as an imaginary yet familiar street scene, this work was co-created with 13 participants over 6 workshops that took place in Chatham along The Old High St Intra.
The workshops inspired conversation, connection with heritage and a clear focus on positive mental health and wellbeing.

Adam then composed the final work using the 3D scans to show architecture and spaces in intricate detail. He also built an interactive 360 version to place you right in the centre of the street scene, where you can hear directly from participants.
Participants Were: Teri Brunt, Daniel Nicholson, Daria Buriachkova, Kateryna Lisova, John Morgan, Prabhath Gunawardhana, Brandon Michael, Heike Nwagbo, Arnold Adegoke, Gabi Almeida, Thomas Allen, Michi Masumi, Magda Szewczyk.
