Hack is our sector learning programme that helps local artists and educators upskill in creative technology and embed it in their work practice.
Launched in 2023, and with a growing network of over 60 individuals, Hack members receive invites to our industry masterclasses and tech try outs, exclusive artist commissions and networking events.

Masterclasses to book below:
- Join digital participation artist John Whall, to explore his approach to collaborative world-building that makes use of virtual reality and game technology. Explore Unity Engine, Blender, OpenBrush, Scaniverse and more!
- Award-winning Director Sarah Ticho presents Soul Paint, an immersive VR experience at the intersection of extended realities (XR) and health and wellbeing. Try out bodymapping, 3D drawing and movement in VR, and find out how to design a human-centred experience for wellness.
- Build your own geolocated soundwalk using the ECHOES app with artists Anna Braithwaite and Jeremy Scott - ideal if you are interested in immersive audio, storytelling and heritage.

In 2023 our Hack programme:
The Hack programme is designed to address specific digital technology skill gaps for creatives in Medway and the surrounding areas, and will evolve and respond to local need. Hack members are encouraged to discover and play with emerging immersive technologies, embed new learning in their practice, and develop collaborations between artists and educators within the network.

- featured masterclasses from Darkfield, Hey Green Raven and Signals
- launched two Electric Medway Festival commissions, with access to equipment and technical support from Livi Wilmore, Adam Glen and Hannah Whittaker
- was subsidised by Medway Council and Arts Council England, with Festival commissions funded in collaboration with Ideas Test and MSL Discover.
