VISION AND MISSION_

Electric Medway is a not for profit arts organisation based in Chatham, UK.

At our heart we believe that everyone is a digital storyteller, offering access programmes in our communities and schools to amplify local voice and support emerging creatives.

Our vision is to bring technology and the arts together to make Medway an innovative and exciting place to live, work, learn and visit.

Our mission is to enable communities in Medway to be creative with technology and arts through activities that are open to all.

Through our annual public festival, we present and commission professional work that is increasingly blurring the worlds of immersive tech, performance and place.

Regular activities:
Festival
Hack
Hire

Formally SparkedEcho, Electric Medway was founded in 2015 by working class creatives Kevin Grist (Creative Director) and Janet Moore (Executive Director). It is also supported by an Advisory Board and a growing community of digital artists.

Our work relies on a mix of public funding, trusts and foundations, ticket sales and donations. Any surplus is reinvested back into our public programmes.

We are a member of the OUTLANDS Network and Outdoor Arts UK, a Disability Confident Committed Employer and an Artsmark Partner.

We recently commissioned composer Emily Peasgood to write new music for our outdoor show Beacons. This work is currently shortlisted for a 2022 Ivor Novello Composer’s Award. In 2021, Electric Medway festival was shortlisted at the national Hearts for the Arts Awards for Best Arts Project.
